Beatboxing Talent in Pakistan

A question may arise that what beatbxing is? It's basically  form of vocal percussion which primarily involves the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one's mouth, lips, tongue and voice. It may also involve singing, vocal imitation of turntablism, the simulation of horns, strings, and other musical instruments. Beatboxing today is connected with hip hop culture, being one of "the elements", although it is not limited to hip hop music.

The term "beatboxing" is derived from the mimicry of the first generation of drum machine,then known as beatboxes. "Human beatboxing" in hip hop originated in 1980s. Its early pioneers include Doug E. Fresh, the self proclaimed first "human beatbox", Swifty, the first to implement the inhale sound technique, Buffy, who helped perfect many beatboxing techniques and Wise, who contributed significantly to beat boxing' proliferation. Wise inspired a whole new fan base of human beatboxers with his human turntable technique. In Pakistan there are very few Beatboxers, but luckily one of my best friend got into this and now he is making a name for himslef. His name is AYJ AKA Asfandyar Junejo and in this blog i'll let u know how this kid started beatboxing..


It started when AYJ listened to his friend making different sounds from his mouth in a local cafe of Hyderabad . He got curious about it and then started to search over the internet about it. he downloaded videos of several beatboxers and then practiced their tunes, as we know that hard work always pays off.. so kept on praticing till he perfected them.. but the problem was that how wud he let people know about his talent .. so made his own home made video back in 2008 and uploaded it youtube.. response wasnt great because he was an amateur and a newbie in this field but he didnt loose hope..he taged his videos on facebook and people started to like them .. after a struggle of 2 years his name was taken in several mucis concerts..


Through an acquaintance he got the oppurtunity to go live on "SAHIR LODHI's SHOW"  which was a great boasting start for him.. he didnt stop after the show .. the word was in the air .. people came to know that this kid has an extra ordinary talent and can make a name for his country .. he has several concerts and TV shows under his belt and he is consistantly improving .. there will be a time when he will represent PAKISTAN internationally in the field of beatboxing.

I will also post his videos on this blog but the reason I decided to make a blog on him is because he never gave up despite the fact that he faced hard times in the start and made a name for himslef on his own
 .

There are other beatboxers in Pakistan as well but the reason why i chose AYJ is because he strived hard till the end and still making his way on the top.. he didnt have much resources or contacts .. he did everything on his own.. the other day when i told him about this blog he said that he didnt make it through to SAHIR Lodhi's show with the help of an acquaintance , instead he waited for more then 12 hours for weeks just to give auditions.. 

There's a lesson for all of us in this AYJ story and that is "Never Give Up" .. 
 As mentioned earlier  AYJ has performed in many TV shows in the past 2 years .. and if talk about gigs in local cafe's then the numbers are even more better .. from today on wards i'll b postinf his pictures and videos of different gigs .. the following picture was taken  in BEST ROCK Cafe .

Apart from that .. he has also been battling with other beatbxers.. one of the most watchable and interesting battle was with Rameez who is another emerging talent in beatboxing.. if you guys look at the video you'll figure yourself that how great these 2 guys performed .. !!
